Mrs Frost lives with her goose keeping an eye on the world. She bakes and the sun shines, she hangs up her washing and it rains. And when she shakes out her quilt soft snowflakes cover the earth in a blanket of snow.
Little Sonia has no hat, no coat and the wolves getting closing in. She has been sent to find strawberries in the snow.
Her adventure takes her through the seasons from crisp white paper pages to bright colourful pop-up scenes in a show about the changes in the seasons, overcoming adversity and the transformative power of kindness.
Children are invited to come up and play with the shadow puppets at the end of the performance.
WHAT IS A RELAXED PERFORMANCE?
A Relaxed Performance is specifically designed for those who would appreciate a less formal theatre environment. The aim is to retain all the magic of theatre but in a more relaxed environment through sensitive changes to the performance. A quiet, sensory room will also be provided for audience members to use if they need a break from the performance.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The relaxed performance is open to everyone but may benefit individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties, sensory and communication difficulties, those living with dementia, parents with young babies; and anyone who feels they would benefit from a more supportive and inclusive theatre-going experience.
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT TO OTHER PERFORMANCES?
• We keep the lights on low over the auditorium.
• Effects in the show are toned down, especially if they involve sudden loud noises or flashes of bright light.
• Audience members are free to move around, leave their seats and make noise during the show.
• A quiet, sensory room is available for audience members to use if they need a break from the performance.
• There will be audience participation, but individuals will not be picked on at random.
• Additional staff and stewards will be on board to help.
