Car Parking

CAR PARKING NOTICE

There is limited parking available adjacent to The Courtyard, off Penhaligon Way – charges apply.

Car parking enforcement is in operation. Charges apply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including Sundays and Bank Holidays). Please ensure you park within a designated bay and display a valid ticket. Both daytime and evening charges apply.

Our car park is operated by ANPR  (Automated Number Plate Recognition). The camera records images of vehicles entering and leaving the car park using monitoring technology. All users of the car park can get 30 minutes free access for collections, pickup and drop off without logging registration details. All vehicles staying longer than 30 minutes will need to log registration details to validate parking or risk receiving a Parking Charge Notice. Payment is accepted as cash, card or via RingGo. Blue Badge Holders

Parking is free for all Blue Badge holders in any space if attending Courtyard events. To obtain free parking, please register your car registration details at Box Office on arrival – you will not need to return to your vehicle until the end of your stay. If you are visiting when the Box Office is closed you will need to pay for parking.

All other vehicles will need to log registration details using the new machines provided.

TARIFF

Daytime charges between 8am and 6pm on all days are:

Up to 30 minutes  FREE


Up to 1 hour         £1.50


Up to 2 hours       £2.50


Up to 3 hours       £3.50


Up to 4 hours       £4.50


Over 4 hours        £10.00 (Expire 8am the next day)

EVENING

After 6pm there is a fixed fee of £3.50 (to expire at 8am the following day). This rate is available from 3pm.

DAY PERMIT

Users of The Courtyard attending or taking part in activities over 4 hours can purchase a £4.50 day permit from the Box Office on proof of attendance.

Car Park Terms & Conditions 

Up to 30 minutes parking is free in any bay.

There is further public parking available a couple of minutes walk away from The Courtyard at The Old Market off Blackfriars Street and in Merton Meadow, behind the football ground. Please respect our neighbours and do not park in adjacent residential areas.

Vehicles must be parked within a marked bay/ No parking on yellow lines, footpaths, grassed areas, hatched areas, delivery areas or restricted zones.

You must enter your vehicle registration number correctly and in full into a parking payment terminal. Ensure that you used an ‘O’ for the letter and ‘0’0 for the number zero in your registration.

Tickets are not transferable from one vehicle to another. You do not need to display your parking tickets, but please retain it as proof of purchase.

Please note that the Automatic Number Plate Recognition car parking system is managed by Corporate Services (Parking Management) and not by The Courtyard. Courtyard Staff do not have responsibility for car park monitoring or enforcement.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Hereford railway station is a 15 minute walk (or 5 minute taxi ride) from The Courtyard. Direct services are available to Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham and London. Please see National Rail for details of train times.

There is a bus stop right outside The Courtyard and the city bus station is only a 5 minute walk away (County bus station 10 minutes). Please see Traveline West Midlands for details of bus times.


CYCLE ROUTE

The Great Western Way cycle route comes out 100 yards from The Courtyard, providing direct traffic free access to the west and south of the city. Covered parking is provided for 20 cycles with a further 4 open cycle racks adjacent to the main entrance. For further details of local cycle routes, visit the Herefordshire Council website.


TRANSPORT

Some transport services are available for outings to The Courtyard for those with no car or access to public transport.
