The Courtyard signs the City of Sanctuary Pledge – Refugee Week 2023

Refugee Week takes place this month from 19 – 25 June. In 2022 we were able to bring you a programme of incredible work by and for refugees. This year, The Courtyard has taken an important step by signing The City of Sanctuary pledge, reaffirming our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming space for refugees.

Understanding Refugee Week

Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. It serves as an opportunity to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and promote a culture of inclusivity and empathy.

The City of Sanctuary Pledge

By signing this pledge, we commit to being a place of safety, support, and inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers. This pledge signifies our dedication to providing a welcoming environment and encourages others to follow suit.
